Source Code Presenter: Felicia Tan

Felicia Tan is a human-AI interaction researcher pursuing her PhD at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering.

She studies not just how AI systems are built, but how they reshape the way all of us think, learn, and make decisions. Having worked in venture capital and helped build an early-stage AI startup, she has seen firsthand how quickly excitement around new technology can outpace our understanding of it.

Felicia now brings this human-centered perspective to teaching courses on generative AI at NYU and to her community work, including designing sensory systems for wheelchair users with HeartShare, a New York City disability services organization. Her work has been featured on the covers of ACM Interactions and Communications of the ACM, and appears regularly in leading peer-reviewed venues.

She is delighted to be part of ACRM’s Source Code lecture series because conversations about AI belong beyond the pages of academic journals, and because, like many of you, she loves a good museum.
