Introduce Your Child to Real-World Hardware Engineering & Microcontrollers!
Wednesdays, October 21 through November 18
5pm-6:30pm
$195 plus $35 materials
Is your child fascinated by tech, and wondering how it works under the hood? Our 5-Week Arduino Electronics & Coding Program gives students the exact tools used by real engineers to bring physical inventions to life!
Unlike basic software-only coding classes, this hands-on course teaches kids how to bridge the gap between software and physical hardware. Over five interactive weeks, students will work with Arduino Uno microcontrollers—small electronic brains—learning how to connect real circuit boards, wire components like LEDs and switches, and write actual text-based computer code to control their physical creations.
Each week builds on the last: students will progress from basic electrical circuits to complex, multi-functional electronic devices that they build from scratch - and take home with them!
What Your Student Will Learn & Build:
October 21: Hands-On Circuits & LED Light Filters
Students kick off the program by diving into circuit design and electrical flow. Using software simulation tools and physical breadboards, they will design, test, and assemble a multi-LED circuit to build a custom-colored selfie light filter.
October 28: Smart Traffic Light Systems
Kids move from static power circuits to programmable hardware. They will write their first lines of code to control timing sequences and program a fully functional, two-way intersection light system.
November 4: Interactive Switches & Protective Cases
Inventions need user controls! Students learn to add physical switches to their electronics, write modular code functions, and engineer a custom Lego enclosure to protect their circuit boards.
November 11 and November 18: Multi-Pattern Light Controller (2-Part Capstone)
Putting all their skills together, students will design a complex device controlled by multiple switches and advanced programming logic. They will program four distinct light patterns and troubleshoot their hardware to complete a functional electronics showcase.
